Cumbria Flooding
The charity has donated £3,000 to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cumberland and Westmorland to help that Province in its work in providing immediate assistance to the communities ravaged by the floods. We have also donated £2,000 to help with flooding in Ulverston.

Trustee Appointments
The charity wishes to create a list of Freemasons who are interested in serving as a trustee of the charity. Information on the duties of a trustee and how to be placed on the list can be obtained from the Chief Executive.

2009 Report and Accounts Copies of the Trustees' Annual Report and Accounts are available for downloading here.

Grants for non-Masonic projects
The charity is is pleased to consider applications
from charitable organisations for community projects taking place in the area served by the Province of West Lancashire. It will also consider applications for financial assistance towards young persons' needs. An application form and guidance notes can be downloaded here.

Gift Aid
The three year concession on Gift Aid will allow us to continue to enjoy the 28.2% uplift in the value of qualifying donations up to April 2011. The reduction in the lower rate of tax from 22% to 20% previously announced would otherwise have reduced the Gift Aid benefit to 25%.

Our charity helps Freemasons of the Province of West Lancashire and their dependants in financial difficulty. We can also provide support for non-Freemasons in certain cases and for a variety of charitable purposes. Unfortunately we can't help in all cases but every application whether from an individual or a group of people wanting financial help will always be carefully considered.

Freemasons in our Province are donating money for the Masonic Samaritan Fund. To learn more about this fund click here.

Seeking help when you are in need can be embarassing and stressful but the Care System run by Freemasons in the Province is able to help many people in a sympathetic and caring way and the beneficiaries will be guided through the simple process. If you qualify for assistance payment will be made swiftly and discretely.

Other than for ongoing bank standing orders donations to the 2010 Festival will no longer be credited to the West Lancashire Province. The final total raised by the festival was announced at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting on 8th May.

We believe that Masonry has a valuable role to play in the community and we have been pleased to provide substantial funding over many years to help a wide variety of projects. We don't top up bank balances but we are willing to consider grants for practical projects. Contact can either be through local Masons or direct to the charity.
